God is moving in exciting ways at Joshua’s Place! Joshua’s Place is becoming well known in the communities we serve. So much so, surrounding school districts are taking notice and asking how Joshua’s Place can bring the ministry to their area.   It is inspiring to see the Lord stretching and growing the ministry as we step back for Him to take the lead. Over 200 volunteers reaching communities for Christ one child and family at a time. Take a few minutes and see what has taken place this month!

Summer Camps Highlight

@ Kings and Little Miami

Joshua’s Place Kings and Little Miami kicked off Summer Camp at the beginning of June with engaging experiences continuing through the end of July.
Each day, through the generosity of volunteers and supporters, children are able to step outside of their circumstances and be kids. Creating hopes and dreams for the future and encouraged to walk out the life God has created them to live.
From Future Fridays experiences to Makers Space classes to Library Days, kids at both locations are enjoying their summer being fed, learning, playing, dancing, and having fun!
We invite you to LIKE and follow our Facebook page to keep up with our summer experiences.

Growth in Joshua’s Place Community

Mason

Joshua’s Place is excited to announce we are expanding into the Mason City Schools community!
Joshua’s Place will be utilizing the funds provided by the Shine Like Sable Foundation and launch the first phase of the ministry as a Mason PowerPack Program.  This outreach is designed to alleviate hunger and provide proper nutrition on weekends and extended breaks when other resources are not regularly available.
Joshua’s Place will also be creating and managing a Holiday Gift program that facilitates Christmas Gifts for families in the district that need help. Generally, the outreach will mirror the very successful Kings U Knights ( www.kingsuknights.com ) program that has been supporting King’s families for the last few years. Through this outreach we will also provide educational resources to parents, teaching families they can provide gifts to their children in the future through financial planning and goal setting.
Through the support of individuals, churches, and communities, Mason will bring our school district total to now four districts!

Save the Date

Save the date for our seventh annual fundraising event on Saturday, November 16, 2019.
We’ve outgrown our previous location and will be moving to the Manor House in Mason. This event raises almost 25% of our annual budget and we expect the biggest year ever!
There is also the opportunity to give throughout the year by clicking here.

Volunteer Spotlight

Don and Brenda Doer

…making each one feel loved and valued as a child of God.

During the school year, you will find Don and Brenda Doer volunteering at Whiz Kids. In the Summer, they are going full speed with Summer Campers making each one feel loved and valued as a child of God. Their passion for serving through Joshua’s Place began in the earlier years of the ministry.

Don began volunteering as one of the very first tutors for Whiz Kids in the Kings School District. Brenda saw the impact Whiz Kids was having on children, families, and their own home. She soon joined him and began tutoring with Whiz Kids too! Their dedication to God’s calling in Whiz Kids grew as Joshua’s Place grew into the Little Miami School District where they helped the new program get off the ground. Now they not only serve in Whiz Kids but also Summer Camps and Celebrate Place and The Village Celebrate Recovery. After over ten years, Don and Brenda are still a couple of the most faithful volunteers at Joshua’s Place.
Why? They see how simple acts of service become the greatest form of transformation in the lives of children and their families. Generously giving of themselves by building relationships through their skills and talents allows God to use their lives to pour intrinsic value and worth into others!
