Come Monday mornings, teachers and school nurses are seeing children arrive at school with stomach aches, dizziness and overall lethargy. In an effort to alleviate this problem and give every child in the Kings Local School District the proper nutrition they need throughout the entire week, the Kings Power Pack Program was started.
There are children that rely on resources such as free or reduced-priced school lunches during the week. The Power Pack Program is designed to meet the needs of hungry children at times when other resources are not available, such as weekends and school vacations. Through a partnership with the Kings Local School District, Joshua’s Place is helping to meet this need by providing children with a backpack full of food every Friday during the school year.
Kings PowerPacks and Mason Shine Packs are packed the first Saturday of every month. The packs are very kid friendly and family oriented. No need for sign-ups…just show up!
