Care Closet Program and Spotlight: 29 school buildings with 29 opportunities to give hope to kids in our local communities.

Care Closet Program

The Care Closet Program is effective because of the valuable partnership we have with our five school districts—Kings, Mason, Lebanon, Little Miami, and Deer Park. This program allows us to stock daytime nutrition, hygiene, and hydration items in our care closets, meeting the needs of hundreds of students. Each month we deliver to 29 school buildings, equipping counselors and nurses with a supply of essentials they can distribute discreetly throughout the school day.

Thank you to the Kings, Mason, Lebanon, Little Miami, and Deer Park school districts—we couldn’t do it without you!

Volunteer Spotlight—Baker family

20211224_162905.jpg“I find myself continually growing in compassion for others and a will to serve.”

-Briana Baker

“Trust me, once you start—no matter what role you play or how big or small it is—you will be hooked! It’s a good feeling to be part of the greater good. Being a part of someone else’s joy, hope, and happiness is an indescribable feeling. It’s just so good for your soul.”

Meet Briana Baker and her daughters Madison and Marleigh, who have been serving in JP’s Food Co-Op since August 2021. She has enjoyed bringing her two toddlers to help and showing them how the simple act of stocking supplies and filling grocery orders impact lives by serving. Brianna says, “Family mealtime is such an important time in our home. Providing the food necessary for families to gather around the table together is huge for me when thinking about our small part in the goodness of Joshua’s Place.” Serving at Joshua’s Place, she continually finds herself growing in compassion for others and the growing desire to serve.

Joshua’s Place provides many opportunities to serve the local community from stocking pantries and care closets to participating in whiz kids and the co-op program. If you are interested in finding out how you can get involved in your community or a community close to you check out the link below.
