On Monday mornings, many teachers and school nurses see children arrive at school with stomach aches, dizziness, and overall lethargy. To alleviate this problem, Joshua’s Place started Kings Power Pack and Shine Pack Programs. These programs provide children in the Kings Local School District and Mason City Schools with weekend food throughout the entire school year.

Some children rely on resources such as free or price-reduced school lunches during the week. These weekend food programs meet the needs of hungry children at times when other resources are not available. With the partnership of our community and schools, Joshua’s Place is helping to meet this need by providing children with food every Friday during the school year.

This Saturday, October 2nd, kicks off Joshua Place’s monthly kid-friendly and family-oriented community packs. Volunteers of every age come together on the first Saturday of every month (except January). No need for sign-ups. Just show up!

83 N. Section Street South Lebanon, OH 45065
We pack at the South Lebanon Community Center from 10-11:15 am.

If you have a heart for helping kids and families in your community, we invite you to partner with us through JP’s Whiz Kids program. This program provides one-to-one mentoring and tutoring to build students’ confidence and reading skills. It is a one-hour-a-week commitment during the school year. The key to the success of this program is the number of tutors that are willing to serve. The more volunteers we have, the more kids we can help. Of course, the benefit is not just for the kids but also the tutor. We like to say, “an hour a week is two lives changed “…that second life is yours! Please take a minute to watch the following video on the impact Whiz Kids has on our communities.

We’ll provide you all of the training and support you need to be a great tutor, and we have plenty of flexibility built into the program. You do not need to be a teacher or educator; most of our tutors are just regular people who desire to impact a child’s life. Someone from the Joshua’s Place team will reach out to you and answer any questions you have. Do not put this off! The need is more significant than ever, and we know you can make a difference! Click HERE for more information on what tutoring looks like or when and where we provide this program.

Are you ready to have fun and go all-in? Then come and try your luck on the roulette wheel and blackjack tables, all supporting Joshua’s Place. This year’s theme is A Night on the Nile. Tickets are $100 and include dinner, drinks, and casino chips. You can also purchase a table for $800 and receive ten tickets for you and your friends!
